The government declares public holidays on the occasion of important festivals like Dashain, Tihar, Eid, Chirstmas Day, Buddha Jayanti, Udhauli, Ubhauli and Lhosar. The festivals are really important occasions from cultural point of view and family matter. People get a good chance of family gathering. They freshen their relationship during the festivals. People spend their holidays meetings their relatives and spare some time for religious purpose. Children also rejoice themselves during the festivals as they are offered good clothes and food. Some families plan to travel to new destinations during festivals.

Goddess Durga is worshipped for nine days during Dashain. Lord Shiva is worshipped by married and unmarried women without eating anything for a whole day during Teej. During Tihar (Yam Panchak) festival crow, dog, cow, bull and brother are worshipped in five different days of Yam Panchak. Goddess Saraswati is worshipped for knowledge on Shree Panchami (Basanta Panchami) day. The birth anniversary of Lord Gautam Buddha is observed on the day of Buddha Purnima. The Sun is worshipped on the day of Chhath parba. Similarly, the cow is worshipped on the occasion of Laxmi Puja.

We should observe festivals every year according to our income. We shouldn't be extravagant in celebrating festivals. We shouldn't make unnecessary expenses in buying things, food and clothes. All the family members should enjoy the festivals. The parents should not get too much burden of expenses during the festivals. Such a habit doesn't make us happy and delightful. One should learn to make friendship not enmity. We should also think our health while celebrating festivals. #Swarnim Publication
